MFA Spring Semester 2025

The final semester of my MFA program at Jacksonville University has been an avenue of profound growth as I finally felt my ideas click into place. My research focused on the science of joy, brain chemistry, the habits of bees, sacred geometry, and biblical insights. Through the research a plan for manifesting joy through painting was developed. Paintings of light over dark, bright and airy imagery, the calm rhythms of sacred geometry, and a close look at nature created a visual manifestation of the science behind joy. The work invites the audience to soak in joy as they collect the breadcrumbs provided in discovery of their own joy. As they begin to experience joy, their metaphorical hive will be filled, and their life and experiences will be sweeter for it. They can learn to manifest joy by soaking in the color, pattern, and harmony around them.
